Christmas MINI Home Tour

Merry Christmas Friends!!! I can’t believe this day is here. I love this time of year with all the lights, music, decorations, family traditions and the time spent with family.  It brings out so much joy and anticipation. Every year for Christmas day we switch between going to see my family in Midland, Tx or spending it in Tomball, Tx with my husband’s family. There’s been a few occasions that we’ve gotten to host Christmas at out house. Which I love those times! This year the winner is Tomball. Although no one is traveling to our house for Christmas, I still find it necessary to decorate.  I believe having a decorated home brings the Christmas spirit to all, plus I hope that my children will have memories that come with a decorated home.

This year has brought a whole other set of memories as we last year had moved from a house to an apartment. My decorations are a little less because of space, but I don’t mind this allows me to stretch my creativity. No matter what the size of your space is, bringing Christmas in to your home in some way or form will bring a smile to your face. Trust me! 🙂 Starting with the Christmas tree. Christmas trees are a must have in your home. Last year, I didn’t do much in the form of decoration because we had just moved in October  and I had no idea where all my stuff was at within the mounds of boxes stored. Simple is what it was last year.

This year though, I was on a mission, starting with my patio and tree. The tree was fun to decorate because it took me no time at all this year to get it completed. When I went to Target, within the $1 bins, I found these really cute wooden skis.  In addition to the skis were some plaid and chalkboard accessories. The items displayed this year seemed to be right in line with what is HOT in the decorating world. Rustic, natural, plaid and chalkboards.  So $1 bin was a winner! Jacqueline's christmas tree

The items displayed on my coffee table were from, you guessed it, my favorite store HOMEGOODS. When decorating, it’s helpful to bring in the same colors around your house and what your decorating your Christmas tree. This way it looks cohesive and the eye will see it as one versus two different spaces. Jacquelines 2015 livingroom

Turn a wooden box into a side table

Through the years collecting Santa Clauses has been a hobby of mine. I used to put all of them out but this year a few amount of them came out of the boxes.

Next to our living room is our dinning/office. A table decoration is a wonderful addition to any Christmas decor. Our table is used quite often so the usual pretty plates and silverware settings wasn’t going to happen in the Gilbreath’s abode. Christmas dining room 2015This year I made a few ornaments to match my antique book wreathe. You can check out the last blog I did on that here.My paper ornamentIMG_4959

Don’t forget to decorate your entry way. This area is the first place your guests will see the beginning of your decorated home.entry way decorations 2015.jpg

I hope you all enjoyed my Christmas Mini Home tour. Whatever you do to decorate your home, I’m sure you and your family will enjoy the spirit that it brings. Merry Christmas!
